The premiere of Jay Kelly, a new film by Noah Baumbach, has recently taken place. It tells the story of an aging actor who decides to rethink his personal and everyday life after more than 30 years in the industry. Filmmaking no longer excites him, his family rejects him, and life itself seems to be nearing its final act.
After the death of his friend, played by Jim Broadbent, Kelly decides to travel to France to visit his daughter — and that’s where the main story begins. An incredible mix of comedy, drama, and pseudo-biopic elements makes the film deeply engaging and impossible to look away from. Every moment is filled with emotion, keeping the audience captivated throughout.

The main cast — George Clooney, Adam Sandler and Greta Gerwig — creates an almost perfect on-screen trio. It’s no coincidence that Sandler, usually known for his comedies, and Gerwig, more associated with dramas, balance each other so well. Meanwhile, Clooney, a long-time Hollywood star, brilliantly portrays a “flawed” version of himself.

The film also features Emily Mortimer, Riley Keough, Greta Gerwig, Isla Fisher, and Billy Crudup. This beautiful and moving story is currently being shown at the BFI London Film Festival and will later be available on Netflix.

And remember — in life, it’s never too late for another take!
