It finally happened. For months, there were countless rumors that Paramount was preparing to buy Warner Bros., planning to acquire the major studio and negotiate the terms directly with its executives.
However, as recently revealed, the streaming giant Netflix stepped in with its own offer — and not just any offer, but a staggering $80 billion, disrupting what seemed like an inevitable deal with Paramount. The move has already sparked controversy and criticism from many within the film industry.

Netflix’s CEO is known for opposing the traditional movie theater model, calling it “outdated”, even though box-office numbers continue to prove otherwise, with millions of people happily going to cinemas every week.

The studios may reach an agreement soon, and then we’ll finally see where this massive deal leads. For now, what is known is that Warner Bros.’ contracts with actors, creatives, and theaters remain valid through 2027–2029.
