The trailer for Mortal Kombat 2, the sequel to the 2021 Warner Bros. film based on the iconic video game series of the same name, was recently released.
The first movie wasn’t a massive success, but the studio still decided to move forward with a sequel — this time casting The Boys star Karl Urban as Johnny Cage.

The trailer dropped a few days ago and left many fans satisfied. Of course, it’s still unclear whether the film will be truly engaging or successful, but much like after the first installment, the studio’s confidence in the franchise has only grown.

In fact, they’ve already begun developing a third Mortal Kombat film, even before the sequel hits theaters. However, the release date for the sequel has been pushed back to May 2026, leaving many fans puzzled.

The sequel, like the first film, is directed by Simon McQuoid, who made his feature debut with the original Mortal Kombat.
So, what did you think of the trailer, and what are you expecting from this epic story?
