On October 14, in the center of London, with the support of Zima Magazine, the premiere of a documentary film about Boris Grebenshchikov and his trip to America in 1988 took place (for recording album Radio Silence). After that journey he and his band went to the UK before eventually returning to St. Petersburg (then Leningrad).
The film was originally made many years ago and even sold on VHS. A new epilogue was added in 2025. The film’s director, Michael Apted, sadly passed away in 2021.

The documentary shows Boris’s life and his new team — for example, Sasha Titov and David, with whom Grebenshchikov is still close friends. “I don’t know how he still puts up with me”, — Grebenshchikov joked about their long friendship.
The film is incredibly beautiful, captivating, and most importantly — profoundly sincere. It shows how Grebenshchikov’s music gave many people a feeling of Home, love, and freedom during that distant time. After the screening, Grebenshchikov himself appeared on stage to answer questions from the audience.

— Tell us, what does Home mean to you?
— For me, home is the planet Earth. The fact that someone drew borders on it doesn’t concern me, — Grebenshchikov replied.

One woman from the audience shared a deeply moving story about how her husband once confessed his love to her through one of Grebenshchikov’s songs — despite barely speaking to her before that.

The screening was warm, emotional and full of atmosphere. Expect the film to be shown in other countries soon — and long live the art of BG+.
