For almost a year fans of A24 and especially of actors Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Emily Blunt had been eagerly awaiting the release of The Smashing Machine — a film about aging wrestler Mark Kerr as his faces life’s challenges and personal struggles.

Recently, the movie had its premiere at the Venice Film Festival, and it’s definitely worth talking about. A slimmed-down and stylish Johnson, wearing a gray-blue blazer and glasses, stunned his fans, while Emily Blunt, as always, looked absolutely radiant.

Also in attendance were the film’s director Benny Safdie and, of course, Mark Kerr himself— the real fighter whose life story inspired the movie.

The premiere was filled with energy and emotion, and after the screening, both Johnson and Blunt were seen tearing up as the audience gave them a thunderous ovation.

The film won the Silver Lion and received positive reviews from critics. Its worldwide premiere is set for October 3, and by the way, Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk also appears in the movie — so don’t miss it!
