Since the mid-20th century, sitcoms have been one of television’s most popular genres, captivating audiences with their simplicity, charm, and sincere, engaging stories that so closely resemble everyday life.
Writing a truly good sitcom is no easy task, yet some of Hollywood’s most successful comedians continue to deliver hit series year after year — even though, in recent times, sitcoms have become far less common on our screens.

The new Apple TV+ series The Studio, created by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, was recently released. It follows the awkward deputy head of the “Continental” film studio, a company known for producing big-budget, star-driven movies.

Meta-cinema is always fascinating — especially when stars like Martin Scorsese, Zac Efron, Olivia Wilde, and Ron Howard play exaggerated, satirical versions of themselves: more caricatured, funnier, and often hypocritical, as is so often the case in show business.

Seth Rogen, both as creator and lead actor, once again proves how a blend of absurdity, sincerity, and drama can create a compelling on-screen story — one that is both hilarious and painful to watch at the same time. Highly recommended!
