Not long ago, headlines were still buzzing about Netflix’s attempt to acquire Warner Bros. and how the streaming giant has increasingly become a monopoly in the film industry. Against that backdrop, Wake Up the Dead Man — the third installment in Rian Johnson’s Knives Out franchise — has recently been released.
Once again, Daniel Craig returns as detective Benoit Blanc, this time investigating the mysterious murder of a priest.

The film’s breakout star is Josh O’Connor, who plays Father Jude — a kind, sincere, yet deeply controversial character who assists the investigation. Under certain circumstances, however, nearly the entire village believes he may be responsible for what happened.

An incredible ensemble cast, featuring everyone from Glenn Close to Jeremy Renner and Josh Brolin, delivers a gripping detective story that is at once tragic and highly comedic. Every element of the plot works like a perfectly crafted cog, pushing the entire mechanism closer and closer to its final reveal.
