It’s been a long time coming. For over a decade now, John Wick has struck fear into the hearts of Hollywood producers, worried that each new installment in the franchise might outshine their studio’s biggest hits.
The story of a Belarusian man seeking revenge on gangsters for the death of his dog has become almost legendary. And now, a new chapter in the franchise has finally arrived — Ballerina, a spin-off starring Ana de Armas in the lead role.
The film follows a women-only assassin training school, where De Armas’ character once studied. As an adult, she sets out on her own path of vengeance for reasons that are gradually revealed.
The cast also features Norman Reedus in a key role — and of course, John Wick himself makes a cameo appearance.
Both critics and audiences have responded positively to the film, praising its intense action and engaging story that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats until the very end.
Go see it in cinemas and form your own opinion. We hope the film recoups its $90 million budget — so far, it has made just $92 million.
