Robin Hood is one of those characters who has been adapted countless times, from the previous century — which even gave us an animated film featuring animals — to modern-day interpretations, where the character was portrayed by Russell Crowe and later by Taron Egerton.
In the new film, the lead role is played by Hugh Jackman, incidentally a long-time friend of Crowe. The story will focus on an ageing Robin Hood and his attempts to rebuild his life while settling old scores with his enemies.
Audiences were shocked by Jackman’s new look: long grey hair, a beard reaching almost to his chest, and an incredibly rugged appearance of a justice fighter worn down by life.
One could assume this is something like an A24-style Logan, only now set in the 18th century. The film also boasts a very interesting cast. Alongside Jackman, the movie stars Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, and the young Noah Jupe.
The film is set to be released later this year, though the exact date has yet to be announced.
