In 2019, Rian Johnson directed a film for MRC Studios based on his own screenplay. As a true fan of detective stories, he set out to create a mystery around the enigmatic detective Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craig, and the murder of an elderly patriarch (portrayed by none other than Christopher Plummer).

The film thrilled both critics and audiences, becoming a box office hit and earning multiple Oscar nominations — winning one for Best Original Screenplay. Netflix purchased the rights to the franchise and produced a sequel in 2022 titled Glass Onion, this time featuring stars like Edward Norton and Dave Bautista.

The announcement of a third film wasn’t far behind, and by late spring, the studio released the first teaser for the threequel. The main character now sports stubble and longer hair, giving him a stylish new look. As usual, Johnson assembled a star-studded cast, including Jeremy Renner, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, and many others.

It’s still unclear what the film will be about, but it’s set to premiere on streaming platforms on December 12. For now, all we can do is wait in anticipation—and get ready, because it’s time once again to start drawing our knives.
