Ever since Disney announced Tron: Ares, fans of the franchise and sci-fi enthusiasts have been eagerly following every bit of news about the upcoming film. After all, the project brings together an impressive cast: Jared Leto, Jeff Bridges, Evan Peters, Gillian Anderson, and Greta Lee — along with director Joachim Rønning, best known for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The soundtrack, by the way, is being composed by Nine Inch Nails.

According to the official synopsis, the story will focus on an artificial intelligence named Ares, played by Jared Leto, who is sent to Earth on a dangerous mission. For humanity, this will be the first encounter with an AI being.

Box office predictions for the film are similar to those of the previous installment in the series: experts expect around $45 million in its opening weekend. Strangely enough, not much is known about the movie so far — which only adds to its mystery and visual allure, making it all the more tempting to grab a ticket and experience it on the big screen yourself.

The world premiere of the film will take place next week — don’t miss it!
