Alejandro González Iñárritu and Tom Cruise announced their joint project in 2025, and according to Cruise, he had long admired the director and wanted to work with him.

A few months ago, a teaser trailer was released that revealed very little to audiences. However, even within its short runtime, the creators managed to showcase striking visuals, unconventional creative choices, and the silhouette of Tom Cruise’s character holding a shovel.

What exactly it meant remained unclear to most viewers, although the synopsis suggests that the story follows a powerful man trying to deal with the consequences of a decision that could potentially destroy the entire universe.

Recently, in California, a massive version of that very “giant shovel” was built—over 15 meters tall—and it has already become a trend on social media.

People from all over the city come, walk, and even run just to see it and take photos with the towering structure. This in itself has turned into a highly unusual—but evidently very successful—marketing campaign for the film, which is set to be released on October 2 this year. Don’t miss it!
