Marty Mauser — the man who invented table tennis (ping-pong) a long time ago, after which the game became known all over the world, in every park and household. Nothing special is needed, just two paddles, a ball and a table with a net, where two players can play.

At the 2025 Oscars, Timothée Chalamet presented the film Absolute Stranger, where he played Bob Dylan, while all viewers of the broadcast couldn’t understand why the actor had a mustache and a short haircut.

Later, of course, it became clear that Chalamet was filming a new movie about table tennis, where he will play the main role of Marty Mauser. He will be joined by Gwyneth Paltrow, with Josh Safdie directing.

The trailer looks amazing, especially with “Forever Young” by Alphaville playing in the background, although Safdie’s films are always highly memorable with their imagery and unique filters.
The film will be released in December, which seems to have become Chalamet’s star-making month every year. So, we’re waiting for the movie – and in the meantime, let’s play some table tennis while the summer weather is still good!
